Not only is that a diet, its and unhealthy diet!! Yes you want to lose weight, but you also want to lose weight healthfully and in a way that will be maintainable after you reach goal! I know every doctor suggests a different criteria, but here is my docs if it helps: 1200 80 + grams protein, less than 60 grams of carbs and that is net so you can subtract total carbs by fiber. You need some carbs in your diet, I hope you find a happy median!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291915388186870580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-39060517816428365932010-07-02T09:29:58.011-07:002010-07-02T09:29:58.011-07:00I just read Grace's post (graces fat chance) f...I just read Grace's post (graces fat chance) from Tuesday about her three month bandiversary...have a read if you haven't already. She's losing 2lb a week on an average 1200 a day. You're about the same time out and you are beating the pants off her! 60lb lost already that's so great...and Grace is working it! I think this is something we have to be able to live with long term, so do what's right for you, listen to all the advice and then take a view on it. Sorry to ramble on and on. xxSparklerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05490306062512171500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-36785194704555635222010-07-02T09:02:11.101-07:002010-07-02T09:02:11.101-07:00I personally feel that 800 is too low. If you'...I personally feel that 800 is too low. If you're losing 2lb per week on 1200 then keep doing it. The heavier you are the more calories you burn and as your weight drops you usually have to reduce your calories some to maintain the same weight loss. Personally I tend to find that I don't loose any more weight once I get into the very low calorie range than I was before. I do for a couple of weeks and then I lose slowly...no extra benefit to me - that's me though.

Focus on getting regular exercise and keep your calories to 1200 that's my advice for what it's worth. Well done anyway, you're doing great, don't worry about the odd stall, you know why it happened and you'll get back on track. xxSparklerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05490306062512171500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-73895173676964398042010-07-02T08:51:11.168-07:002010-07-02T08:51:11.168-07:00My whole reason for getting the band was so I wasn...My whole reason for getting the band was so I wasn't on a diet. I don't feel like you should have to sacrifice anything-we should be eating what we want in moderation and smaller portions. I'm not trying to preach, but you said it best-how is that a way of life? You can limit your carbs or try not to have white flour, but truthfully the reason you didn't lose is probably because you were travelling. Give yourself some time to get back into a groove and I'm sure you will be losing again.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09210759567767466760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-63037440691725674812010-07-02T07:53:56.650-07:002010-07-02T07:53:56.650-07:00You will get back into loosing. Don't want to go sacrificing things and fall of the wagon totally.

There is not a thing wrong with "soul searching." We need to do that periodically to stay on track. You are doing fine.Pamela E. I mean, I definitely do lose more when I really stick to protein. I just do. And since I have started exercising, it's been even better. When we get into a good groove, then we can maybe relax a little bit. We know how much the band helps, but it just can't do all the work for us. 16lbs in 2 months is pretty good, but I bet if you really thought about it, you could make that 20lbs in 2 months...or more! All I'm saying is, don't freak out about having to diet a bit. Just do whatever you need to do to move that scale on down! Good luck!Gillyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06422010996986937582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-6322780150992105022010-07-02T06:35:29.360-07:002010-07-02T06:35:29.360-07:00I'm with Alison--that sounds like a diet. Just get back on the horse, so to speak. Eating is so hard when traveling--consider yourself a success for not gaining!!! I surely do :)

Love ya, girl!-Grace-https://www.blogger.com/profile/14777413585734523956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1818996339381602318.post-21173986635148197652010-07-02T00:17:48.089-07:002010-07-02T00:17:48.089-07:00The 800 cals/no carbs thing seems a bit odd, surel...The 800 cals/no carbs thing seems a bit odd, surely that's just a diet?
I'm sure that some smarter women will be along with some good advice soon!Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03267116546096340339noreply@blogger.com
