Food Pimps... Take your homemade fudge and Shove it!

Tis the season of the Food pimp... Eff-Eff-Eff-Eff-Effffff-Eff-Eff Eff UUUUUUU! ... I have been trying to steer clear of them pretty well with their Christmas baked goods and grandmother's recipes to just have a little taste... Uuuummm, would you offer a Junkie a heroine fix? i love the Sweetness like Crack! Candy, Pies, Cookies, Hot Chocolate, Cake, Homemade Fudge... You love me for a moment... and i hate you for a lifetime. I know that a little taste won't hurt me... I know that it's only once a year... i know that I can always diet tomorrow... but I am making my own food choices... and they might not always be good but they are always... Mine to make. So don't Push me into "Indulging" with peer pressure or "Rewards" for all my hard work. While they're all preparing for the new Lent of the New Year's Resolution... We are trying to walk the walk... among the gingerbread houses, Sugar Plum Fairies and candy cane dreams! And remember... It's the thought that counts... or the lack of thought. Be strong. it will all be behind us soon, just like our new "Less junk in the trunk" behind. Merry Christmas to all the other Walk the Walkers...! Trip, if you like, but don't fall! PS... If I turn out to be a hypocrite for the day, or the week, or the month... Just let me wallow in my own cookie crumbs with an eggnog chaser pity party... I don't need the Food Police to come to my rescue either. (And kindly disregard the previous post....I may have been in a sugar coma while writing it...) This post is dedicated to Hey... at Lap with me, who inspired me to write it... and be strong.

  2. i think i've become one of those. since i can't eat that shiz anymore i've gotten into baking this holiday season to make up for it. and since i have no money for gifts my gift is too cook and bake for people. of course this stems from my food=love mentality. but one thing i can say is that i make all my baked goods sugar free and if anyone doesn't want something i don't push them. if anyone understands, i do. i'm lucky no one pushes me since surgery. everyone is very cautious. maybe a little too much. they watch my every move. its a little annoying.

  4. Stay Strong! You can do it. Food Pushers are wonderfully evil little creatures. I wonder if there is something we can wear around our necks to ward them off? Like garlic works on vampires?
    Hmm....
Just remember how all that sugar makes you feel. When I eat it, yes it's great, but then I'm in a coma 45 minutes later and an hour after that I'm ready for more. What a cycle. Ugh.

  5. Great Post

    - I am looking forward to Christmas dinner this year with "Nakita" to help me - I am hoping to avoid most of the temptations except ..... maybe...... a very small piece of my daughter's cheese cake - she makes the best in the world!

  7. Alcohol is my downfall during the holidays. So many parties - so many bad liquid calories.

  8. Oh I forgot - yes I am from Baltimore. I moved right over the PA line a few years ago, but I'll always be a Raven's fan. Yes I did see the Eagles win. It was fab.

  10. Haha!! This post speaks truth! Thank goodness I don't work outside the home anymore. Holiday time was always a time to pack on the pounds with all the food pimps at work. Now I just have to avoid all food-related social events. And not make cookies. ;)

  11. A big thanks to you & Penny Lane for following me! Great post. I totally agree with you. A few weeks ago my husband brought home a big box of yummy baked goods and left them on the counter. After he left the kitchen I got a step ladder, put the box way high in the cabinet so that I wouldn't be able to reach it easily and PLUS that would put the box out of sight so I could forget about it. He said, "You should have enough self-control...." BLAH BLAH SNORE. Now, normally he's pretty supportive but I couldn't help myself and I went off on him and told him how he'd never put an alcoholic beverage buffet in front of an alcoholic so why would he do that to me? Besides, he's tall enough to reach that cabinet without the ladder. I was making it inconvenient for ME TO REACH. Not him. GRRRR. He's a nice guy and apologized a few hours later and told me how great I was doing so please don't think I'm married to a neanderthal, lol.
